As the world seemed to be put on pause during the coronavirus lockdown many businesses were forced to look at the way they operated and for many, this was an eye-opening experience.
Many businesses now realise the importance of embracing technology, in many cases the crisis forced companies to become more agile.
Will accountants need to adapt going forward? Many bookkeeping tasks will be automated, and accountancy will be more of an advisory role to aid business growth. Accountants who are quick to react and embrace technology will be best placed to service their client’s needs into the future.
British business owners are a resilient bunch, I’m sure businesses will come back stronger as they learn to survive and thrive in the ‘new normal’.
